Do I need an account?

Fast Upscale and AI Upscale work without an account. Features that use our server, such as Clean Up, ask you to sign in with a free account.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

Not with Fast Upscale or AI Upscale – the image is processed in your browser. If your device cannot handle a file, Lumio uses its server instead, and server files are deleted automatically.

How large can the upscaled image be?

Up to 8K: the longest side can reach 7680 pixels. Choose 2x or 4x depending on the size of the original.

Which mode should I choose?

Fast Upscale is best when you need a bigger image quickly. AI Upscale redraws fine detail for the sharpest result. Clean Up removes blur and noise without changing the size.

Can AI restore details that are completely lost?

Not exactly. AI makes an image look much sharper, but it can invent fine textures. Check faces and text against the original before you publish.

How long can my video be?

Each clip can be up to 1 minute long. Files that must be processed on our server can be up to 200 MB.

Is my video uploaded?

Most MP4 and MOV clips are processed in your browser and never leave your device. Other formats, or devices that cannot handle the file, use our server after you sign in; those files are deleted after you download the result.

Can I upscale a video to 4K?

Yes. Lumio can output up to 4K (3840 pixels on the longest side). A clean, well-lit source gives the best result.

Why do I need to keep the tab open?

When the video is processed in your browser, closing or reloading the tab stops the job. Lumio warns you before you leave.

Does upscaling to 4K add real detail?

Upscaling makes video look sharper and cleaner, but it cannot fully recover detail the original never captured.
